Aida is one of the most intense and controversial dancer from Malaysia. Her performances, both in local and international, has been varied, but always bearing Aida's unmistakable stamp of dream, play, resistance and revolution. Her teaching focuses on the 3R method of performance technique and creative strategy. For learning, appreciating and commenting 'living' in everyday existence and environment through new dance play and storytelling. She developed Expedition Open Cage/Expedisi Buka Sangkar Research Project at Codarts to create UrbanShaman On The Move a Dream Trilogy. The research inspired her to promote dance with hope for inclusion and open to all that will contribute to healing, harmony and health. She is motivated by collaborative process as a 'Moving Collaboratorium', with a changing band of interdisciplinary friends, connecting between home (inner self) and the world. Mapping out images of life in shifting context, questioning identity, culture, power, territoriality. Preferring site-specifics, she creates new dance installed with and for the local community of the sites as her creative voice to stir change.
